At TrueSpin USA, our mission is to empower pickleball players of all skill levels to Play with Purpose. We believe that every time you step onto the court, whether it's for a social game or serious practice, you should be growing your skills. That's why we created PicklePops, an innovative, accessible training tool designed to help you elevate your game and find new joy in the sport.
Our Story
Our story began with a simple problem: pickleball enthusiast and TrueSpin co-founder, Ryan Haile, struggled to find effective training tools that could simulate real game situations. Specifically, Ryan wanted a way to consistently practice hitting low, non-attackable shots. He recognized that most practice drills led to a series of high, easily attackable balls, which didn't truly prepare players for competitive play.
Driven by a desire to improve his own game and help others do the same, Ryan began experimenting. Using a 3D printer in his basement, he created a series of prototypes for a net-based training tool. This journey led to the creation of the Pickle Pop, the first and only net-based training tool for pickleball. The Pickle Pop is a game-changer, allowing players of all skill abilities to practice hitting low shots and master control in limited space.
After numerous trials and iterations, Ryan and co-founder Tony Skauge began testing the Pickle Pop at local pickleball courts in Pittsburgh and Minneapolis. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Players were excited by the tool's effectiveness and its ability to help them build muscle memory for better dinks, drops, and returns. Seeing this enthusiasm, we knew we had to bring this innovation to the broader pickleball community.
To do that, we approached a mutual friend, Matt Beenen, engineer and owner of BuiltRight Industries. With his expertise, Matt helped us refine our concepts and develop a strategy to bring the PicklePop™ and the associated game of DinkOff!™ to a wider and ever-growing market.

The early success of TrueSpin USA is a testament to the partnership of three friends: Ryan Haile, Tony Skauge, and Matt Beenen. We are united by a shared mission to empower pickleball players nationwide. Our collaboration is fueled by a collective passion to not only provide a unique training tools but also to elevate the collective sport of Pickleball by helping every player learn and grow, no matter their skill level.
Ryan Haile
Ryan manages major partnerships, operations and customer experience. He's a pickleball nut/player/trainer and the brains behind the Pickle Pop™.
Tony Skauge
Tony manages sales, finance and integration at TrueSpin. He's nipping at Ryan's heels on the court thanks to his favorite training tool, the Pickle Pop™ and a lot of Dinking Off.
Matt Beenen
Matt manages product development, manufacturing and marketing. He's an engineer and entrepreneur specializing in new product development, having created and launched over 350 consumer products.
